Information asymmetries and transparency at TEIKEI
As soon as several actors are involved, the problem of so-called information asymmetries often arises. This means that there is an unequal distribution of information or power and decision-making relationships, which in turn influences individual participation opportunities. In many systems, these inequalities are difficult to keep track of, as information flows are not specifically organised and promoted.
Honest and genuine transparency requires a high level of awareness of the needs and opportunities of all stakeholders. At TEIKEI Olive, we ensure a high degree of transparency through regular dialogue between all stakeholders. To ensure that the effort required for dialogue and cooperation is not too great, we form the smallest possible teams, which in turn regularly exchange information in various circles of responsibility.
In order to ensure even more transparency towards our members, we would like to hold open (online) discussions about TEIKEI Olive and the individual economic sectors. Activities such as bottling and personal visits by TEIKEI Olive members to producers also contribute to transparency.
