3-level system of regenerative agriculture
The 3-level system describes the progress of a farm towards fully regenerative agriculture. It is based on four levels: Level 0 (Basic), Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. The approaches of the TEIKEI Agriculture form the basis for the level system.
Level 0The farm works with organic measures, the majority of which are certified (approx. 95%). Care is taken to ensure that the farm operates predominantly according to organic standards, but does not yet undertake any measures in the direction of regenerative agriculture.
Level 1The farm shows interest in regenerative agriculture and works with us to create a concrete roadmap for the transition. In this phase, plans and goals are developed to implement regenerative methods in the long term.
Level 2The objectives for the farm have now been clearly defined and implementation has begun. The farm is supported by our advisory services and measurable targets are set to be achieved within a timeframe of three to five years. This is where the actual transformation of farming practices begins.
Level 3The farm has achieved all its goals and is now practising fully regenerative agriculture. This means that the soil is now continuously storing more carbon, the water storage capacity of the soil is improved and microorganism activity and biodiversity are increasing. The farm is becoming more productive, stable and resilient in the long term.
This system makes it possible to measure a farm's progress towards sustainable, regenerative agriculture and support it accordingly.
